Last Day of School - June 4, 2009

Today Caity had her awards ceremony. Caity received Good Citizenship for her 3rd grade class and Oustanding Performance in Art for her class!

After the awards ceremony, Caity's teacher presented each student with a "classroom award". Caity got the Great Dancer Award!

June 3, 2009

One more day left in our school year here in Lexington. Today was Charlie's award ceremony, and tomorrow is Caity's award ceremony.

Charlie received three different awards today. In Charlie's literacy group, Charlie received Remarkable Gains in Writing!

For Mrs. Decker's class, Charlie received Academic Achievement in Science / Future Scientist!

After the official awards ceremony, Mrs. Decker gave each member of her class an award. Charlie received The Great Listener Award!

We are very proud of Charlie and anxiously await to see what Caity receives tomorrow.

Charlie's poem below was entered in a contest by his teacher. The contest was held by the Carnegie Center in Lexington. He was an elementary finalist and has been invited to come and read his poem. On June 19, the winner will be announced. We are so proud of Charlie! Here is Charlie's poem:

My Earth

Earth is clean and green.

Earth is green, blue and with white clouds.

Earth is a place where I live.

Earth is full of green plants.

Earth is a place full of friends and family.

Earth is a place where people live.
