Day 55 of 2009 - February 24

Today was a Brownie day. After our meeting, Pete and I worked with Caity on getting Girl Scout cookies. If we haven't gotten yours to you yet, don't worry, we'll be working on it all week. Today's picture is of Charlie getting his 20 minutes of reading completed. Tonight will actually take more than 20 minutes since he had 24 pages he needs to read of the "Unexpected Treasure". He made the comment to me tonight that he not only supposed to read it, but his teacher expects him to know what it's about.

Day 54 of 2009 - February 23

Girl Scout Cookies!! We picked them up today! Caity will begin delivering tomorrow. If you did not pre-order, it's not too late. Just give me a call.

Day 53 of 2009 - February 22

I have finally caught up! I am going to work hard this week not to get so far behind.

Last night we received about 1 - 1 1/2 inches of snow. Today, the kids got to enjoy playing in the snow. Caity is definitely our little snow bunny, as she will stay out all day if we would let her.

Day 52 of 2009 - February 21

Charlie received money for his birthday and decided to spend it on the last three sets of Power Miner Legos that he did not have yet. We ordered the sets and they were deliver on Friday. The first priority of Charlie's on Saturday, after his basketball game, was to build his sets. Daddy and him worked hard on them.

On Saturday, Caity went to her ballet auditions for Cinderella. Cinderella will be performed on the Saturday before Mother's Day. Caity can't wait to find out what her part(s) will be, and should know in the next two to three weeks.

Day 51 of 2009 - February 20

Many times I have posted pictures of Kuma, our 11 month old puppy. Today, I have decided to include a picture of our 2 1/2 year old kitty, Tiger Lilly.

Day 50 of 2009 - February 19

On Thursday, Charlie lost another tooth. He is so proud to have lost two teeth in one week.

Day 49 of 2009 - February 18

Wednesday in our house is ballet night. After the kids arrive home from school, it's all about getting Caity's homework done and get her feed and dressed for ballet. That's probably because we leave at 4:00pm and do not return home until 7:00pm. Every other week, I drive since we have worked out a carpool with a friend about 2 miles away.

Day 48 of 2009 - February 17

I am so far behind in updating. The further behind I've gotten, the harder it is to catch up. I should listen to this lesson that I have tried to teach many students. Well, here goes...

On Tuesday of last week, nothing usual occurred. We had a normal day. The kids went back to school after a three day weekend. They came home and did their homework. Caity even worked on her multiplication tables.

Day 47 of 2009 - February 16

Happy President's Day! The kids enjoyed their day off. We didn't do much. We began our day at the orthodontist for Caity. Caity and Charlie spent time watching the Phineas and Ferb marathon on Disney XD and jumping on the trampoline. The evening included basketball practice for Charlie and bedtime.

Day 46 of 2009 - February 15

This morning, Uncle Mark and Aunt Amy headed back to Raleigh. After they left, Charlie had birthday money burning a hole in his pocket. We took Charlie shopping and he spent his birthday money on a Power Miner Lego set...the Crystal Sweeper. Sunday was filled with constructing. Grandma, Charlie, Caity, and I built Charlie's new marble tower. Before the marble tower was complete, Charlie was ready to put his new legos together. Charlie and Grandma put lots of legos together. Charlie is now able to play with his new lego sets.

Caity had fun playing with Charlie's marble tower.

Day 45 of 2009 - February 14

Happy Birthday, Charlie!!! Happy Valentine's Day!

Today, we celebrated Charlie's 7th birthday! The morning started with Charlie's basketball game. Charlie scored 3 baskets! I guess I should really say he scored 3 goals. He was really proud of himself. After basketball, we went home and the kids opened presents...Valentine's and Birthday. Charlie received all he wanted and more!
Charlie's birthday party was held at GattiTown, in Lexington. GattiTown is a pizza buffet with an awesome midway. The midway has bumper cars, a carousel, and many arcade games. This is definately a fun place for kids. Charlie enjoyed his party with his many friends. We also had an awesome cake. Charlie wanted a Mario theme and our great friend, Cherrie Consiglio, made Charlie a Mario cake. Thank you, Cherrie! Thank you everyone for making Charlie's 7th birthday memorable!

Day 44 of 2009 - February 13

We had a very busy Friday the 13th. Caity and Charlie both had Vaentine's Parties at school. Charlie's was also a little birthday celebration. On Friday evening, Pete's family, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Amy, and Uncle Mark, came to visit. The kids were very excited. They enjoyed playing and sharing the Wii.

The photos are of Caity at her Valentine's Party, and Charlie playing the Wii, boxing, with Uncle Mark.

Day 43 of 2009

Tonight, Charlie lost a tooth. He was so excited and hopes that the Tooth Fairy brings him money. He'll find out in the morning.

Day 42 of 2009

As I clean the house for the weekend, I did take time to clean up my scrapbook room. Here it is...

Day 41 of 2009

I'm catching up again. I continue to take pictures, but can't seem to get posted each evening. On Tuesday evening, I went to Jill's house for Stampin' Up Stamp Club. Here's one of the cards that I made.

Day 40 of 2009

Finally, the snow is gone. We had a warm and wonderful weekend that continued through today. Caity and Charlie have been on the trampoline since getting home from school and it's dinner time. It's great exercise for them and they are getting lots of fresh air.

Day 39 of 2009

We have a busy week coming up with Charlie's 7th Birthday and Valentine's Day. I had the kids go ahead and complete their Valentine's cards for school this morning. This way we don't have to sqeeze that in along with homework and the activities that we have to attend each evening.

Day 38 of 2009

On Staurday, the Pinewood Derby for Cub Scout Pack 73 was held. Charlie competed and did very well. Charlie did not placed but was probably in the top 10% on the 104 Cub Scouts that did participate. Charlie's car raced an average of 202 mph.

Day 37 of 2009

Wow am I behind. I have taken pictures but have not updated my blog. On Friday, I took pictures of my scrapbook room in the messy state that it is in. Along with clean for family to visit, I want to focus some energy on getting my scrapbook room organized and clean. Here's one picture of my beginning.

Day 36 of 2009

Pete's foot rest! Isn't he cute!

Day 35 of 2009

Caity and Charlie played in the snow, on their snow day, while they were home with Daddy. They enjoyed sledding down our little hill out front on the tobogan that was Pop-pop and Mom-mom's. Mommy was at ITT teaching her class since there was not a snow day. We are hoping that this will be our last snow day this winter, so we will get out of school before mid-June.

Look who has to pull the sled up the hill!!!

Day 34 of 2009

Snow again. The kids came home early. No school tomorrow.

Day 33 of 2009

I'm playing catch up again. I guess it has to do with being back to school for the kiddos.
This evening we received a box from NJ. It was Christmas in a box from Mom-mom Crist, Aunt Ginny, and Patricia. Here are pictures of Charlie and Caity opening gifts. Thank you Mom-mom Crist, Aunt Ginny, and Patricia!

32 Day of 2009 (February 1)

Yes, today is Super Bowl Sunday. Like most people, that's what we're doing. The kids enjoyed the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet.

Day 31 of 2009

Caity received dissappointing news today. She auditioned for SCAPA(The School for the Creative and Performing Arts) back in November. We have been waiting to here if she got in. 34 third graders auditioned for 6 ballet spots. Caity received her letter today, and she was not offered a spot. I must say that Caity took the news rather well. She's looking at the bright side...she gets to stay with her friends at ACE.

Caity got a sewing machine for Christmas. Charlie keeps asking Caity to make a sleeping bag for his stuffed animals. She finished it up today.
